PHOTO EDITING MATTERS

Sorting and selecting in Lightroom

Many people think that photo editing only occurs in the newsrooms of newspapers or magazines like National Geographic. In fact it's a process that millions of non professional photographers are involved in, at many different levels, all the time - since the advent of digital photography, social media and the blogosphere, people are expected to have basic file management and editing skills..... however not everyone has that time and those skills. That is why my business offers editing as well as photography.

Example: A client turned over 3500 images to me that were made while traveling. Due to a heavy schedule, after 5-6 months she still hadn't found time to work on the photos. My task was to sort through all those images, select the strongest, organize them into albums, crop them, and make global adjustments. I uploaded all of the images as a catalogue into Lightroom to do all that work then Voila! the client was able to share their images on social media, blog, or in the form of self published books on Blurb

She's also done a Adobe Photoshop Lightroom coaching session with me so she can fine tune her images later if she wants.

My client Anne-Marie had this to say:

"Feels like it has been non-stop for me and I had not had a chance to look at the pictures until a few days ago. I'm completely happy with the work you did and really enjoyed our interaction. It was a huge relief to have the editing task off my shoulders. Plus your turn around was fantastic!
...At some point in the (hopefully) near future, I will post a link on Facebook to my Smug Mug site. Would it be ok to tag you in the post thanking you for your help?... Anne Marie."
